Support Groups

You don’t have to experience this alone.

Communication, cognition, and swallowing functioning are all huge aspects of our lives. Ones we experience every day – and different emotions come with coping with the changes or work we are doing in these areas. If you are feeling alone or do not know of anyone who is experiencing the same challenges you are, we invite you to come to one of our support groups! We promise you are not alone.

Our support groups are open to individuals and their families looking for support and a comfortable place to come and be yourself. We want to hear about your successes and challenges so that we can problem-solve together. You can meet new people and be a part of something bigger than yourself.

Support groups are free and have no obligations! Come to one meeting, come to all meetings – we’ll have you every time! We are looking forward to introducing you to other individuals, spouses, and caretakers that are going through similar experiences. Plus, we always provide light refreshments!

Life Re-Entry

After being in the hospital and going through different levels of therapy, it is important to get back to the things you love to do and be around good people to help you get there.

Here at Reynolds Develin, our therapists have years of experience in the medical settings. We know the challenges do not stop after the surgery is over, the discharge paperwork is signed, or the diagnosis is confirmed. Most of the time, that’s when more challenges may arise – ones you did not even anticipate. We established this unique support group to give you and your loved ones a safe space to come and use as a resource, sounding board, and community to be with as you navigate your way back into your life!

Parkinson’s Disease

Reynolds Develin Speech Services is proud to have two of our SLPs certified by the Parkinson’s Voice Project, to facilitate an effective program that combines education, individual speech therapy (SPEAK OUT!), and ongoing group sessions (The LOUD Crowd).

About Parkinson Voice Project:

Parkinson Voice Project is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the world solely dedicated to helping individuals with Parkinson’s improve their speech and swallowing. The organization runs a speech therapy clinic in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and also hosts the World’s Largest Parkinson’s Chorus consisting of nearly 100 individuals with Parkinson’s whose voices have been restored.

Parkinson Voice Project’s vision is to replicate its speech therapy program across the globe to help individuals with Parkinson’s preserve their speech and swallowing abilities. More than 2800 speech-language pathologists have been trained to date around the world.
